Terrace is an east-side Napa neighborhood that sits between the Silverado Trail and the city limit, bounded by Coombsville Road to the north and Tulocay Creek to the south. The name on that northern boundary, Coombsville Road, honors Nathan Coombs, who founded the city of Napa back in 1847, and the neighborhood has the established, residential feel of a place that's been settled for a long time. The location is the quiet sell. You're on the east side with quick access to the Silverado Trail, which puts up-valley wineries and the eastern hills close, while downtown is still a short drive west. It's a calm, mostly residential pocket without the through-traffic of the central neighborhoods. The tradeoff is convenience. Like most of east Napa, this is car country: there's little retail inside the boundary, so groceries and errands mean a drive, and the creek edge brings the usual wet-winter drainage questions. For buyers who want a settled east-side street with easy access to the Silverado Trail and a quieter pace than central Napa, Terrace is a solid, low-drama choice.
