Turkey Creek is a mostly open stretch of Lincoln, California, centered on Turkey Creek Golf Club and the oak-dotted hills around it. Only a handful of homes sit inside the boundary, so this page describes a golf and open-land area rather than a typical subdivision. The course is an 18-hole public layout at 1525 State Highway 193, with rolling terrain, shaded holes on the back nine, a practice facility and a Bar & Grill. The clubhouse is the one public gathering place here, and its Bar & Grill is the closest thing to a neighborhood hangout. Around it, the land is oak woodland, grassy hillside and ranch parcels, with the Esplanade at Turkey Creek development as one of the few residential pockets. There are no neighborhood parks inside the boundary. The nearest is McBean Memorial Park near the old town, and the McCourtney Road Equestrian Center sits farther out for riders. Open ground and quiet country roads are what people use for walks and drives, and the oak shade on the course makes summer afternoons easier to take. Eating and drinking means the club grill or a trip into town. Downtown has Brood Coffee, Old Town Pizza and Crumb Bakeshop, and Karen's Little Café on Nicolaus Road is a well-reviewed breakfast stop. Daily life here is by car. State Highway 193 is the main road through the area and connects to the old town, where a Walmart Neighborhood Market and Earth & Vine Provisions cover groceries, and Raley's and Safeway are in the Sterling Parkway shopping area. Highway 65 is the connection to Roseville and Sacramento. There is no transit. Distance from services is the cost of the open land. Every errand is a drive, and the quiet depends on the surrounding land staying as it is. The oaks and the rolling fairways are most of the picture here, and there is very little to interrupt it.
