Vista de Vallejo lives up to the name, a hillier, north-central pocket where the streets sit higher and some lots take in long views over the city. It runs toward the newer and higher-priced end for Vallejo, with Johnston Cooper and Highland Elementary serving parts of the area and Vallejo High as the assigned high school. The appeal is elevation and a quieter, more residential feel than the flatlands below. The position keeps you central to the north side of the city while sitting up out of the busiest stretches. As with most of Vallejo's higher ground, the tradeoff is that there is little to walk to, so the everyday shopping happens down on the corridors, and the upkeep, while generally a step up from the older grid, still varies. Vista de Vallejo is a view-and-quiet pocket more than a walkable one.
