Woodridge Reviews & Questions

Neighborhood Review
Key Words: Meadowlands Park, Suburban Park Living, Alamo Drive Errands

Woodridge is a small residential piece of Vacaville centered on Meadowlands Park, and the park is what gives the neighborhood a middle. On a map you see rows of single-family streets wrapped around a green space that works as the shared yard. Homes are detached houses on regular suburban lots, with garages, driveways and fenced backyards. The blocks look consistent from one street to the next, so learning your way around takes a day. Meadowlands Park sits inside the boundary, which means a stroll, a dog walk or an hour on the grass starts at your own street. The next options are Nelson Park and Beelard Park, each a short drive or a longer walk, and the dog area at Arbor Oaks Park sits farther out still. Food and errands are up Alamo Drive in the neighboring Creekside area. Raley's handles the main grocery shop, with Peace Love & Boba close by for drinks. For coffee, Dutch Bros Coffee is the closest drive-thru. There is also a Walmart Neighborhood Market a little over a third of a mile away for a second grocery option. Daily trips go by car, and the shopping corridor is near enough that a forgotten ingredient is a quick fix. A bike works for reaching the park, though crossing Alamo Drive takes patience. Woodridge has little of its own to walk to besides the park. A sit-down dinner or a good cup of coffee means a drive of several minutes, and for a bar, a bookshop or live music you would head downtown. The park does a lot of work for a neighborhood this size. It gives the streets a landmark and a reason to step outside after dinner. Vacaville sits along Interstate 80, midway between the capital and the coast, and Woodridge is one small residential piece of that larger map.
