Alamitos Heights is a quiet, leafy pocket on the eastern side of Long Beach, tucked between Recreation Park and the waterways around Alamitos Bay. The streets roll gently, the lots are generous, and the housing leans toward well-kept mid-century and traditional homes that have held their character. Its best amenity is location: Colorado Lagoon and the Marine Stadium rowing basin are minutes away, Recreation Park's golf course and trails sit just to the west, and the shops of Belmont Shore and Second Street are a short drive south. This is not a walk-to-everything neighborhood, so daily errands mean getting in the car, and the through-traffic on the bordering arterials can be busy. What residents get instead is a calm, green, residential feel with quick access to the bay, the park, and the university, which keeps demand steady block to block.
