Neighborhood Reviews & Questions

Neighborhood Review
Key Words: Ocean Bluffs, Historic Mansions, Museum District

Bluff Park is the grand old address along the ocean bluffs of Long Beach, a historic district of large, stately homes set above the beach on and around Ocean Boulevard. It became one of the city's first protected historic neighborhoods in the early 1980s, and the housing earns it: two-story Craftsman homes, Mediterranean and period revivals, and several architectural landmarks built between 1903 and 1949, many beautifully maintained. The bluff-top park runs along the water with lawns, palms, and a path down to the sand, and the Long Beach Museum of Art sits right on the edge of the neighborhood. Living here means ocean views, walkability to the beach, and a level of architectural prestige hard to match in the city. The tradeoff is cost and the responsibilities of owning a historic home. For buyers who want the coast and the architecture together, Bluff Park is the standard-bearer.
