Brentwood Manor is one of the city's older, plainer residential pockets, closer to the original core than the master-planned south end. The homes here predate the big growth waves, so they carry the more modest footprints and mature yards of an established Brentwood neighborhood rather than the wide two-stories you see on the new edges. The upside of being closer in is access. The downtown grid, with its farmers market, older shopping and civic core, is nearby, and you are reasonably centered for getting across town. The honest read is mixed-bag presentation: an older tract like this varies block to block, with some homes lovingly kept and others showing their age, and the central school assignments sit below the south-end numbers. For buyers who want an affordable, lived-in Brentwood address with some maturity to it rather than a builder-fresh one, the Manor is worth a look.
