Cascade Properties is a gated scatter of estates in the forest between Cascade Lake and the Emerald Bay corridor, on the stretch of Highway 89 every visitor to Tahoe eventually drives. The setting is the whole argument: big timber, real seclusion, and Emerald Bay practically up the road. Cascade Lake itself, one of the basin's few private-shoreline lakes, sits just below, which gives this pocket a two-lake geography almost nothing else on the south shore can claim. The same road is the catch. Summer gridlock toward Emerald Bay crawls past the gate, and storm closures on 89 can stretch winter drives considerably. Owners treat both as tolls on one of the most coveted settings on the lake.
