Coronado is a compact residential neighborhood in south Richmond, the kind of place that mostly flies under the radar between the bigger names around it. Cutting Boulevard runs through it, tying the neighborhood to Point Richmond and the Marina Bay waterfront on one side and the rest of south Richmond on the other. The homes are older single-family houses on small lots, and the streets stay quiet and residential away from the main road. What you get here is position. You are close to the Marina Bay shoreline and the Bay Trail, the Richmond Parkway and I-580 are easy to reach, and the Richmond BART and ferry terminal are not far for commuting. For a south Richmond address, the access is hard to argue with. The tradeoffs are honest ones. There is not much retail inside Coronado itself, so you are driving or busing to shops, and Cutting Boulevard carries real traffic during commute hours. It is a modest, well-located pocket where the value is in being a few minutes from the water without paying Marina Bay prices.
