Creekside is the stretch of Vacaville where Alamo Drive does most of the talking. The neighborhood is organized around a long run of everyday businesses, with single-family streets set behind them, and almost nothing about it is meant to be scenic. The homes behind the shopping are ordinary detached houses with driveways, garages and fenced yards. They sit close to the stores, so the line between where people live and where they run errands is thin. Green space is just outside the boundary. Beelard Park is a couple of blocks off in the Fairmont neighborhood, and Nelson Park is a little farther, in Leisure Town. A walk to either one means leaving Creekside, though only briefly. Alamo Drive is the reason people end up here. Raley's anchors the grocery run at 3061 Alamo Drive, and Peace Love & Boba is a few doors along at 3083 for a cold drink. Jersey Mike's is at 3035 for a quick sandwich. Dutch Bros Coffee sits just over the line in Foxboro, which gives the morning drive a drive-thru stop. Pizza and takeout counters fill out the rest of the strip, so a dinner plan can be made in the car. Daily life is built around driving, but the distances are small. Groceries, a coffee, takeout and a gas stop can all happen within a mile or so of home, and on a weeknight that saves real time. Check any bus route against your own schedule, since the setup favors the driver. The price of that convenience is Alamo Drive itself. Turn lanes, shopping-center driveways and steady daytime traffic set the neighborhood's edges, and the quiet of the back streets depends on how far you sit from the avenue. Creekside asks little of you most weeks. You can drive five minutes in almost any direction and reach the rest of Vacaville.
