Governors Village is one of the founding neighborhoods of El Dorado Hills, set on the northwest side around Governor Drive. It carries the settled feel of the town's early build-out, with mature landscaping and a layout on a comfortable, older scale rather than the sweeping curves of the newer plans. Its standout is green space close at hand. Governor's Park brings duck ponds and fishing right into the neighborhood, and Heritage Village Park adds a second anchor, both rarer touches than most established tracts can claim. Shopping, the Town Center, and the community's schools are a short drive off. The tradeoff is the age of the housing, which is earlier tract stock that varies in upkeep and updating from block to block, and lots here are ordinary rather than expansive. What sets Governors Village apart is those ponds and parks woven into an older, green, and genuinely walkable pocket of the original El Dorado Hills.
