Northeast Novato is a spread-out, semi-rural area that stands out for its open space and seclusion. Much of the neighborhood backs up to marshland, hillsides, and the Deer Island Preserve, making it feel worlds away from denser parts of Novato. The Bahia neighborhood, tucked near the water, offers access to scenic trails and wildlife corridors that few other areas can match. Homes are mostly single-family and often sit on larger lots. There’s a mix of newer construction near Black Point and older ranch-style homes on winding roads like Atherton Avenue. Some pockets feel remote, while others enjoy a tighter community feel, especially in planned developments. Amenities are limited within the neighborhood itself, but it’s a short drive to Costco, Vintage Oaks, and the 101 onramp.
