Northrup is a small residential pocket in the Arden area, one of the lesser-known interior neighborhoods near the Bell Street corridor on the east side of the county. The housing is largely mid-century single-family on modest lots, quiet and unassuming, with little to distinguish it commercially from its Arden neighbors; it is a calm interior pocket rather than a place with its own center. Everyday errands run to the retail on the surrounding arterials, and the Watt corridor and freeways put the rest of the metro within an easy drive, with the American River Parkway a drive south. The appeal is a quiet street and a central-east location at a moderate price. There is not much more to claim here without overstating it, and that low-key quality is much of the point for the buyers who land here.
