Sanders Ranch is the gated, big-lot southeast corner of Moraga, a guard-controlled community built out in the 1980s as the town's high end. It still reads that way: some of the largest homes in Moraga, on generous hillside lots, with the views and elbow room that command the top prices in town. The presentation is polished, the streets are wide and private, and the setting backs up to open hillside, so the feel is more estate-and-ranchland than typical suburb. The guard gate and the scale of the lots are the draw, and they are why median prices here run well above the rest of Moraga. The tradeoffs come with the location. Sanders Ranch is about as far from daily conveniences as you can get in town, so the Rheem and Moraga centers are a real drive, and the commute over the hill to Highway 24 is longer from this end. You are also up against the wildland edge, where wildfire readiness is part of the deal. For buyers who want space, privacy, and a gated address, this is Moraga's marquee option.
