Neighborhood Reviews & Questions

Neighborhood Review
Key Words: Traffic Circle, Park Bracketed, Eastside Hub

The Traffic Circle neighborhood is named for the landmark roundabout where Pacific Coast Highway, Lakewood Boulevard, and Los Coyotes Diagonal all meet on the east side of Long Beach. The circle is the commercial hub, ringed by shopping centers, restaurants, and services, while the residential streets behind it hold a settled mix of mid-century homes and apartments. The location is the selling point: Recreation Park and its golf courses sit just to the south, Stearns Champions Park to the north, and the beach, Belmont Shore, and the 405 are all a short drive away. The obvious tradeoff is the traffic itself, the circle and its feeder arterials are busy, and the blocks closest to them carry noise. Step a few streets in and the neighborhood quiets down. For buyers who want a central-eastside location with shopping, parks, and the beach all close, the Traffic Circle area is as convenient as it gets.
