Bridgehead is Antioch's working riverfront, the northeast corner where Wilbur Avenue runs past marinas and industrial yards along the San Joaquin River and Highway 160 climbs toward the Antioch Bridge. Housing is a mix of older homes and newer infill wedged between the water and East 18th Street, close enough to the Oakley line that some addresses feed Oakley's Orchard Park Elementary. The draw is pure geography. Boaters get the Delta at the end of the street, commuters get a fast reach to Highway 4 or a straight shot over the bridge toward Rio Vista, and prices stay under the city's southern subdivisions. The cost of that location is freight. Truck traffic on Wilbur Avenue is a daily fact, and the industrial parcels next door are not going anywhere. People tour Bridgehead and either get it on the spot or never will. If a boat slip matters more than a manicured front yard, this is the one corner of Antioch that can make that trade, and nothing else in the city comes close to matching it.
