Danbury is a tidy mid-1990s tract in north Livermore, built out by Centex between 1994 and 1996 and sitting just off Vasco Road. It is a compact neighborhood, fewer than 300 homes, with no HOA to answer to, which is part of why it keeps turning up on the shortlists of buyers who want a turnkey detached house without the rules or the dues. The homes are classic move-up product for the era: two stories, mid-sized footprints, attached garages, on lots scaled for a usable backyard rather than acreage. Streets are quiet and residential, and the north-Livermore location means the Vasco corridor and the I-580 ramps are close, which is the whole point for commuters. Like most of north Livermore, it is a drive to anything resembling a main street, and the immediate surroundings lean practical rather than scenic. But the houses have aged well, the upkeep is consistent, and Danbury holds its value as a no-drama, no-HOA pocket with fast freeway access.
