The southern stretch of Loomis, CA is the part of town that earns the horse-property reputation. Around the Barton and Brace Road corridors and down toward the Rocklin border, parcels run an acre and up on level ground under mature oaks, with barns, wash racks, and hay storage listed as standard equipment. Zoning here is rural residential, and the town likes it that way: Loomis incorporated in 1984 largely to keep this land pattern out of Rocklin's hands. Water is public on many parcels, but wastewater usually means a septic system, so budget for the inspection. Del Oro High School and the Taylor Road core are a few minutes north, and Sierra College sits just across the town line. Nobody walks anywhere. There are no sidewalks to speak of, and the widening of Sierra College Boulevard between Brace and Taylor Roads tells you how much commute traffic crosses this end of town. What you get in exchange is elbow room the rest of the Sacramento region mostly paved over.
