Windmill Springs is a late-1980s and 1990s McBail Homes neighborhood in east Livermore, just off East Avenue. The homes span a wide range, from around 1,100 square feet to 3,000, on lots in the 5,000-to-8,000 range, so the tract mixes right-sized and larger plans across its blocks. It is a sizable, established neighborhood that has aged into mature landscaping and steady upkeep. Its best feature is what is next door. Robert Livermore Park sits close by, and with it the Robert Livermore Community Center and the Aquatic Center, an unusually strong recreation cluster for a residential neighborhood, plus access to the Arroyo Mocho Trail network. North Mines Road and East Avenue feed straight downtown, so First Street and the freeways are a quick trip. It is still a car-oriented neighborhood for daily errands, as most of east Livermore is. But the combination of a major park-and-pool complex within reach, a span of home sizes, and a quick line downtown makes Windmill Springs one of the more well-rounded options on the east side.
