Apollo is the village's high northern edge, the last streets before national forest takes over, platted as the town pushed up the mountain in its later expansion. Elevation runs from about 7,160 to 7,490 feet, which makes this one of the highest named neighborhoods in Incline, with the full sweep of Lake Tahoe below from many lots. It is established rather than showy: well-built homes from several eras tucked into big timber, with public land at the back fence and trailheads out the door instead of shops. When people say they moved to Tahoe for the forest, this is the version of Incline they mean. Everything in town is a downhill drive, and the snow up here means it, both worth knowing before you fall for the view. For owners, the forest-boundary setting is the entire argument, and it is a good one.
