Apple Hill Estates is one of Brentwood's older established pockets, dating to the early 1990s, and it has aged into one of the more polished. It is a gated community with its own private parks, tennis courts and walking paths, so a lot of the daily recreation happens behind the gate rather than at a public field. The homes are a real mix of Craftsman, new-traditional and custom builds, many with the stucco-and-tile Mediterranean look, and the size range is wide, from modest to genuinely large. Because it predates the big southern expansion, it sits closer to the established western-central part of the city, with shopping and Sand Creek errands a few minutes out by car. The tradeoff is the gate itself: the HOA and the private amenities carry a cost, and the housing stock is older than the shiny south-end subdivisions, so condition varies house to house. What you get in return is a settled, leafy address that does not feel like it was poured last year.
