Carlton Square is a slim, key-shaped pocket north of downtown Livermore, boxed in by East Stanley Boulevard on the north and El Caminito on the east. A single entrance funnels traffic onto quiet interior streets like Anna Maria, Alice, Elvira, and Albert, all lined with Hoffman-built ranch and split-level homes from the mid-to-late 1960s on flat lots. Curb appeal runs the full range, from fresh drought-tolerant front yards and new paint to original brick trim and well-used driveways, but a canopy of mature pistache and liquidambar ties the blocks together. Pleasure Island Park sits on the western edge and does the work of a neighborhood backyard: playground, dog walks, evening soccer. The Arroyo Mocho trail is a block north, and a quick hop onto East Stanley puts groceries, coffee, and the downtown restaurant scene about five minutes away by car. The interior is calm, but weigh two things before you fall for it. East Stanley hums along the northern fence line, and the pocket has no retail of its own, so essentially every errand is a drive. The upside: the blocks stay quiet, remodels are steadily lifting the housing stock, and you are buying a genuinely close-in spot without a downtown price tag.
